By providing your phone number and creating an account on the Abuelita App, you expressly consent to receive SMS text messages from OCTech Services at the number you provide.
All SMS messages are sent by Operational Core Technologies, LLC, the operator of the Abuelita App, from a dedicated toll-free number. We do not share your phone number with third-party marketers.
Message frequency varies based on your account activity. You may receive multiple messages per day during active service periods. OTP messages are sent only when you initiate a sign-in.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier SMS and data rates apply based on your mobile plan. OCTech Services does not charge separately for SMS messages.
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from non-emergency SMS at any time. You will receive a one-time confirmation, then no further messages except those required for account security (OTP). To re-enable notifications, update your preferences in the Abuelita App.

Consent is collected at account creation. When you complete onboarding in the Abuelita App, you are presented with a disclosure statement and asked to confirm your phone number. Your consent is recorded in our audit log with a timestamp and your user ID. You may not create an account without providing a valid phone number.
Caregivers and delegates who assist an elderly user through the onboarding flow on their behalf must confirm that the account holder has given their informed consent. This confirmation is also logged.
Your phone number is stored securely and used solely for the purposes described above. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with advertisers or unaffiliated third parties. SMS delivery is handled by Twilio, Inc. under their privacy policy.
